Hello! This is Staff member, M from GEN: The online dojo!
It is said that it is difficult to continue winning in kendo competition.
In fact, there are only three people who have won the All Japan Kendo Championship consecutively, which has been held now 69 times.
Miyazaki Masahiro and Takanabe Susumu of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police, and Nishimura Hidehisa of the Kumamoto Prefectural Police!
These are the superstars that everyone knows, and they are all police officers!
I think this result shows just how strong the police force is!

However, there is one player who has placed three times in the past five years, including this year!
That would be this years runner up, Mr. Hayashida Shohei from Fukui Prefecture!
He studied at Shimabara High School and then went on to Tsukuba University, where he won the All Japan Student Team Championship twice, as well as the All Japan Student Championship, making him one of the leading players of his generation!
After graduating from university, he moved to Fukui Prefecture, where he worked first for an organization and is now teaching at Maruoka High School!
Although he has yet to win a championship, Mr. Hayashida's consistent good results as a teacher in an environment that does not allow him to practice sufficiently must give many kendoka hope.
