GEN staff took part in a tournament!|GEN ONLINE DOJO

Hello! GEN staff member M. Here! In charge of GEN Kendo.
Over the weekend I took part in a Dan Divisional Tournament.
Although it was only been a week since I recieved feedback at the recent seminar, I concentrated on my issue of shifting my center of gravity!
I was looking forward to the match, hoping it would help get results!
When the match started, I think I was able to attack from start to finish, but I lacked the final touch and was unable to make a move. My opponent was tall and had good reflexes, so it was hard for me to catch him. In the end, I rushed and went for a men strike and recieved a kaeshi-do.
However, even my usually strict sensei gave me positive feedback, saying that the results of my daily practice had come out a little.
Also, one of the people who watched the video of the match said, "It looked like your opponent was on the ropes."
By being conscious of shifting my center of gravity, I was able to create a stance that allowed me to hit at any time, which may have put pressure on my opponent. However, the fact that I couldn't land a strike in the end may have been a phycological matter rather than technique.
As it is perfectly fine to be struck in keiko, I will continue to work on this as hard as I can to find that perfect place to strike.
1.Today’s Recommendation
Now, today's recommended content is the "Online Kendo Assessment!"
As I'm sure many of you already know, this is a service where you can have your kendo assessed by a number of GEN instructors, from famous young competitors to certified kodansha instructors!
For example, if you think, "I've recently been told that my offense is weak," "I can't step in properly," or "I've been told that I'm swinging my right hand too much" this content is for you.
Moreover, we are holding a campaign where 30 people will be selected by lottery to receive an assessment totally free!
This campaign ends today, October 25th!
I'm sure there are some of you who are thinking, "I'm not good enough to have my kendo checked," or "This will be embarrassing," but this is an amazing chance, so just like sutemi, take the plunge and apply!
I think I'll have my match yesterday checked out as well.
Online Dojo GEN hopes to help kendo practitioners around the world achieve their goals!
