Hello! This is M, with GEN: The online dojo!
The day before yesterday, I visited the kendo training at a junior high school where one of my old friend and upperclassman is teaching!
I had been asked to attend before, but due to the restrictions imposed by the state of emergency declared by the new coronavirus epidemic, I was unable to visit the club. However, I was finally able to attend!
This senpai is a kendo enthusiast who loves kendo and is very passionate about its research He is also one of the kendo practitioners I respect the most! 
When I told him in advance that I was looking forward to it, he was very humble and said, "The keiko layout varies from day to day, so don't get too excited."
When I arrived a little late, I was greeted by a group of younger students and a senior student standing in front waiting for me. I apologized for the inconvenience and we headed in.
My friend was smiling and talking with the students, but when the practice started, his face was almost expressionless. His instruction was precise. He seemed to have been telling the truth. The keiko menu was quite simple, but it was also well thought out. He also pointed out the communication between the students. I learned a lot from him and also felt that he was managing the club activities with a lot of thought.
I practiced with all the students, and at the end, I had a one-minute tachi-ai with a senior student. I hadn't practiced with him in about 10 years, but he was as strong as ever. I'm a higher dan than him, but I felt that he was the one training me! I'm very grateful for it all the same!

The way of training and the atmosphere are different depending on the sensei, the area, and the dojo, aren't they?
I came back home with the feeling that watching different kinds of training would help me improve my own teaching ability in teaching students. Time to get back to studying!
