Shimizu Natsuki visits Okinawan Karate masters
In this 4th episode, Shimizu Natsuki visits Uema Yasuhiro Sensei, a master of Shorin-ryu Karatedo in Okinawa.
Firstly, they review the basic movements of Naihanchi, which is a Kata taught in many different Ryuha, and a Kata that Natsuki has practice many times.
It goes without saying that the basics are important in karate practice and of course, Natsuki has been practicing them diligently for a long time.
However, after being taught by Uema Sensei, Natsuki realized that she still has a lot of things she does not understand about the basics of karate.
Taking the time to re-learn the movements of the Kata one by one, she found many new meanings that she did not realize before.
During practice, Uema Sensei is strict and sincere, he also makes no distinction between men and women, so he Natsuki get’s the same hard lessons as Uema Sensei’s regular students.
