Mr. Koichi Shimura assumed the position of Technical Committee Chairman of JAPAN
KARATEDO FEDERATION Wadokai in April 2023.
Mr. Shimura has been instrumental in promoting and expanding the art of wado
both domestically and internationally, and has supported Wadokai for 18 years as its
Executive Director.
What is the driving force behind Mr. Shimura's energetic efforts to teach both in
Japan and abroad? We also asked him about his aspirations as the new chairperson of the
Wadokai's new technology committee.
