This series of articles has been produced in response to requests from readers who wanted
to know what kind of training is being conducted at strong dojos.
For less than three years since the July 2020 issue, we have interviewed about 30 strong
dojos from all over Japan, and this month's issue marks the end of the series.
In addition to the main dojo in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City, Hakushin-kai Shimizu also
has two branches. In competitions, the dojo has produced many national tournament
winners and prize winners every year.
In this issue, we asked Sensei Keigo Horikawa of Tomarichikai Shimizu to introduce
some of the essentials of his daily practice, especially the strengthening of readiness
and tactics in kumite, which will give readers hints on how to build their daily practice menus.
