In this issue, we report on a seminar ("KARATE STEP UP
SEMINAR") held on June 24 in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture,
by Team REA x GROW, led by trainer Sensei Shunichi Oba, the
supervisor of this feature.
In addition to Ohba-sensei, Kakeru Nishiyama and Hikaru
Ohno, who were the first couple in history to win the Japan No. 1
male and female kata at the All Japan Karatedo Championships
last December, taught kata, and Yugo Kosaki (2022 KARATE1
Series A Athens winner) taught kumite. Yugo Kosaki (2022
KARATE 1 Series A Athens champion) taught kumite,
introducing efficient training and practice methods for kata and
kumite competitions.
