The summer Inter-High School Championships is the pinnacle competition for high school teams from all over Japan. There, the Gotemba Nishi team became the first in the history of  women's team kumite to win four consecutive championships. In the world of  
high school karate, where the rivalries are fierce and the members change from year to year, the Gotemba Nishi team has won Japan's top team kumite title four times in a row, a remarkable feat.
However, they have not won all of  their matches over the past four years. The persistence with which they tackle the summer Inter-Highs is amazing. They are truly the Gotemba Nishi High School (Gonishi H.S.) of  summer. We will look at the efforts of  Gonishi H.S., which continues to improve its individual and team strengths one by one, and the techniques, mindsets, and secret stories that have allowed them to win in the summer of  competition.
