Students of the Founder, Yasuo Kobayashi Shihan, Part 2 First half

In this series called “Students of the Founder”, we interviewed the direct students of the Founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba.

With us here this time is Yasuo Kobayashi Shihan, who after graduated from Meiji University became a Dojo instructor, and was taught directly by Morihei Ueshiba.

After that, he became independent and established “Kobayashi Dojo” in his home.

Now he has over 130 Dojos under his management all over the country, and he is prospering as the General Shihan of Kobayashi Dojo.

In the first part, we shall ask about how Kobayashi Shihan came to enter the Hombu Dojo, and his memories surrounding the previous founder, and also about the progress leading up to him opening his own Dojo.

In the second part, we shall ask about the many Dojos under Kobayashi Dojo, that have been made all over Japan.

We shall ask Aikido Kobayashi Dojo at Tokorozawa about the efforts to promote Aikido abroad and the feelings and hope for Aikido.
