Interview with Tetsuya Furukawa,Japan NationalTeam Coach
Continue to get stronger!

In August, a training camp for JKF Senior National Team kata players was held. Before the  technical instruction, a mindset program was prepared. The content of the program was:  "What we Japanese kata practitioners should be doing is not just improving our technical  skills to win in the current kata competitions". In other words, learning kata in Japan,  the mother country of karate, requires a proper understanding of the history of karate, its  origins, and the technical innovations required for karate in each era. The concept of kata  requires an understanding of the characteristics of karate while tracing the process of its  formation, and the ability to reproduce more realistic technical attacks and defenses in  kata demonstrations.
Japan national team coach Tetsuya Furukawa, who is well versed in the field having  traveled to various kata competitions in Japan and abroad, was interviewed about the  JKF national team's approach to strengthening kata athletes and how he is aware of the  importance of kata in his own daily practice. We will introduce some concepts that you  can apply to your kata training to continue to improve and develop your kata. Special Thanks
