Asking Kyoshi:Kyoshi 8th Dan: How I discovered kendo Vol.7
English Translations Coming soon
Many kendoka train daily with the goal of attaining the 8th dan,
the highest rank in kendo. However, there are many kendoka
who have given up on the idea of attaining this level, thinking
it to be something other worldly.
Those who have passed the test are assumed to be the best of
their generation, or the elite of kendo.
However, what I have learned from watching this series,
"Asking Kyoshi" is that even those who attain the 8th dan at
a young age have had different reasons for starting kendo.
They didn't start kendo in a special environment and
they have not all been competing with outstanding results.
The more I listen to the stories in this series, the more I think,
"It's never too late to start. There is still a chance for to reach 8th dan."
This is a compilation of stories of three such teachers,
from their first encounter with kendo through experiences in
their early kendo years.
We hope you enjoy it!
