Murakumokai Collection Part 3
Murakumokai Collection Part 3
The "Murakumo-kai" is a group of eight sword smiths who gathered at a workshop of the Japan Art Sword Preservation Society in the birthplace of the "Heavenly Murakumo Sword" in Okuizumo. After exhibiting their works in Okayama, Miyazaki, Nagoya, Tokyo, and Paris, they now present the world of sword beauty in this video.
With the full cooperation of the most technologically advanced staff, a total of 70 hours of filming time was spent trying to recreate the charm of the swords, including the brilliance of the ground iron and blade pattern, through the eyes of the sword smith.
In addition to being a collection of works of art, this video is widely recommended as a guide for those who want to learn the basics of how Japanese swords work and how they have changed over time.
Part 3 features interviews with and works by Suketada (real name: Tetsuya Tsubouchi), Nobumasa (real name: Masayoshi Hayasaka), Kanekuni (real name: Mitsutoshi Ogawa), and Fujiwara Kanefusa (real name: Kato Katsuo).
