Students of the Founder, Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan, Part 1

In this series we talk to the teachers who studied direct under the Founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba.

In this episode, we talk to Hiroshi Isoyama Shihan. He joined the Aikido Shuren Dojo in Iwama city (now Kasama city) at the age of twelve.

He devoted himself to the Founder who at the time was living in Iwama practicing a life of unity between martial art and agriculture.

He would later teach Aikido to the U.S Army and Japanese Self-defense forces in Chitose Hokkaido.And have been engaged in the spread of Aikido for many years.Currently, he is helping bring up the next generation at Dojos such as Toride Aikikai.

In this first part filmed at the Aikikai Ibaraki branch dojo, Isoyama Shihan talks about how he got started in Aikido.
