English Dubbed Version: Modern Day Gassan Tradition Part Three

Gassan-den is a group of Dewa swordsmiths who flourished in the Kamakura period (1185-1333) and are known for their beautiful layers called Ayasugi-hada and very detailed workcarvings. This video documents Gassan Sadatoshi's 800-year tradition of forging techniques in high definition with interviews with the swordsmith himself.

Part 3 includes an introduction to Sadatoshi Tsukiyama's work, from placing the clay and Yakiire to the carving process, as well as an interview with him. This is the English dubbed version, so it is easy to understand even for people from overseas.
