The 44th All Japan Iaido Tournament, 7-dan Division Part 1 features the first round matches between Tsuyoshi Matsubara (Ishikawa) and Fumitaka Katsuse (Shizuoka), Koji Tani (Kyoto) and Kenichi Sakamoto (Tokushima), Toshizo Ogaki (Hiroshima) and Kenryo Nakaima (Okinawa), and Katsumi Komiyama (Saitama) and Akihito Maruoka (Kochi).
